Flexibility, Literally by Ruth Utnage

I've been working on my flexibility, mainly my hips. I spend time each day doing various stretches that will elongate my muscles and open my hips enough to allow for me to do the splits. While I am not there yet, I can stand in front of my cell beds (there are bunk beds) and without kicking can rest my heel on the upper bunk and maintain a straight, unbent knee, as long as I hold my heel.

The upper bunk is 60 inches off the ground, or 5 feet. I can almost do the splits north/south and east/west, I'm about 6 to 8 inches off the floor.

I don't know how this will come in handy upon release, but I have never done the splits and have always wanted to. Now I am a 39 year old woman and am almost there for the first time. Yay!

I have no clue why I'm so excited about it. But I am!

With Love
Ruth
