I had a great conversation last week with Ruth and she described the above as a method to write a message to a friend on paper. The whole idea was very cool and I figured I would try to say something extremely simple in the manner she described, digitally. Sometimes in prison, being creative can change everything. Just think about it... people have to prepare for your world after decades of never being exposed to it. That takes creativity. In order to make life more livable inside, creativity also helps. One of my favorite sayings is, "If necessity is the mother of invention, prison is its bastard father." It's true, people have been extremely crafty in ways that can only be developed in prison. But when it comes to putting our lives back together, people in prison always think a little outside the box. I know in order to start seeing life after prison, I had to reflect on what it was before and imagine something so much better. Then, as I dream of it, I create steps to make it materialize. While it's just strategy, it requires creativity... and the above is a little creativity to tell a simple message.

HumanMe is a platform used to showcase the rehabilitated. Here, we have an eclectic set of viewpoints and come from a variety of backgrounds but we all have one thing in common, we have used our prison time to rehabilitate ourselves and want the public to see what is possible in the incarcerated despite our prison system. This page is not a social media page, the inmates posting here CANNOT respond directly to your comments. You must contact them directly by mail or JPay.
