Punish, Punish, Punish Or Correct, Correct, Correct?

Have you ever dealt with CPS? Spanked your kid in public and the next thing you know you have an investigator at your door step. CPS is a great organization that is needed to protect children from parents who are temporarily or permanently unable to provide proper care.

The parent must go through tons of scrutiny and loopholes to get their kids back but so often the parent is unaware of what really needs to change...themselves. Or they do know, but don't know where to start. Faced with drug addiction, joblessness, homelessness, prostitution, abusive relationship, poor peer support networks (if any)...the list goes on.
So often someone in authority says "you need to get your act together". But offers no advice on how to do so. No road to travel. They don't correct the problem, only punish for it.

I would like to propose that we correct the problem.

This is why I am starting to create a program that will attempt to work with willing parents or anyone who is struggling with the above things, or anything else that prohibits safe, societal interactions and contributions. How about someone who is willing to help you BEFORE you do something awful. I want to PREVENT victims, not manage them.

I am doing this beginning stages of a program I'm going to call Reaching Out. It will be born from helping LGBT people deal with their circumstances and I will then begin to reach out to all of you out there in hopes to correct risky behaviors without you having to lose everything. But you can't do that if you can't be honest and open. Which CPS and other authorities make it difficult to be transparent because of the fear of losing everything. I want to bridge that gap. Just a heads up, perhaps someone will read this, pass it on and the right person will agree that this is worth working on. I'll do it anyway, but a little help would be better!

I am going to change the world.

With Love
